Based on the real-life story of Aranzazu Berradre Marín, the pseudonym for the only police officer in Spanish history to infiltrate the terrorist organisation ETA successfully, Undercover follows her as she lurkes in the cirles surrounding ETA, pretending to be a young sympathiser. After several years undercover, ETA finally gets in touch with her. They need to use her appartment for two members of the organisation whose objective is to prepare several attacks.

Veteran Echevarría and Yuste, deliver here a powerful portrayal of a woman’s sacrifice for the role of her life as well as an insight into the complex intricacies surrounding the organisation. The film just won them the Best Film and Best Actress Goya Awards.
