Galicia, 1950s. In a harsh, male-dominated world, Concha and her friend Ramona begin their day before dawn. As pulpeiras—women who prepare and sell octopus—they work at the river and later serve pilgrims. When Concha faces an unexpected problem and her husband is away, her fellow pulpeiras come to her aid. Determined to understand what happened, she sets out to uncover the truth and ensure it never happens again.
