Anabel meticulously organises a glamorous charity dinner in her impressive villa at the end of which, she realises that Chiara, her daughter abandoned thirty years ago, is present. Chiara's only purpose is to spend ten days with Annabel after which, she will ask nothing more. Salazar, who also wrote the script, masterly portrays the complex tensions and the mixed love-hate feelings between a daughter and her stoic mother in a story often confused by Chiara's provocations and self-destructive actions. The two actresses outstanding performances convey strong emotion greatly supported by Ricardo de Gracia's photography, Sylvia Steinbrecht's art direction and Clara Bilbao's costumes.
